Trump won and the Republicans have a majority in the House and Senate.

I'm an American. AO3 has not made an official statement and I don't think they will, but I do think my likelihood of being imprisoned is high or at least nonzero if Yakkolicious and my real self blend too much. I read parts of Mandate for Leadership (aka Project 2025) a while back, and I know it is very anti-LGBTQ. I don't want to take any chances, and I have the idea of changing the ratings on all of my fics tagged as M/M and F/F and some others to Mature or Explicit to avoid problems, but I want to hear your opinions first. Everyone is welcome to chime in! Here are my fics and how they will be changed if people say I should do it:

Impetuous Fire (Three Caballeros) will go from General Audiences to Explicit for intense slow burn and unambiguous same-sex crushing.

Huck's Secret Side (Jellystone) will go from General Audiences to Explicit for a same-sex kiss.

Petals for PJ (Goof Troop) will go from General Audiences to Explicit for a same-sex relationship between tween characters.

Music in the Mist (Papa Louie) will go from General Audiences to Explicit for a same-sex kiss.

Bicycle (Clone High) will go from General Audiences to Mature. It gets to be M because it's more about the concept of bisexuality than a same-sex relationship. Carl and Wally appear, but they're adults and there's no kissing.

The Apple of My Eye (Animaniacs) will go from General Audiences to Explicit for same-sex kissing done by a teenager.

Don't Go Chucking My Heart (Super Mario) will go from General Audiences to Mature. It gets to be M instead of E because it's crack, Luigi and Chuckya do not get to first base, and historians could argue these two were just good friends (/lh) while it's more unambiguous with the others.

The Ghost (Papa Louie) will go from General Audiences to Mature for Vincent suggesting a potential same-sex relationship between Maggie and Prudence. It will be M instead of E because Maggie quickly shuts this down and Prudence isn't physically present.

Dumped (Clone High) includes Carl and Wally and JFK outright states he's bisexual (well, a bicycle, but same thing in his mind), but since it's already rated Mature for legitimate reasons, its rating will remain unchanged. None of my other fics include same-sex relationships and no trans characters actually state they're trans, so my other fics will keep their ratings no matter what.

So I was abit nervous to write this but I decided to do it anyway

So personally in my opinion I been noticing people in the LMK fandom getting abit to obsessed with the shadowpeach ship

To let me explain the shadowpeach shippers are getting abit out of hand cause I notice when they found out canonically in a earlier verison of JTTW wukong had a wife named princess jiaozi they were freaking out upset and keep saying macaque is jiaozi

It was kinda ehh but I pay no attention then I notice a toxic shadowpeach shipper attacked one of my favorite artist for Shipping themselves with macaque and saying and I quote “it’s wukong and macaque not you and macaque stop uploading videos of that kind”

And I seen a lot of people having drama over this ship

And it personally made me cause to make this post cause this to me is getting abit out of hand and it feels like error x ink ship from undertale (despite ink being canonically aroace and error hating his guts)

So I don’t know to say this but I wanna explain abit how shadowpeach won’t work cause ( I personally want to make sure no one goes and calls me a homophobe or ran the pits of hell upon me)

AGAIN this is just my opinion if you ship shadowpeach then alright go ahead I know I can’t change your mind but as long as your not being a toxic fan it will be fine

To start the first one reason why it won’t work for the most obvious

Wukong is already married to jiaozi now before you say “well where is she in the show? Or in the book?” It’s because she was in a Earlier verison of journey to the west before the one we know and from what I know it’s REALLY hard to get their hands on the older verison of jttw But she does exist

Besides Lmk only ever mentioned the Buddha and I personally think they won’t show him cause there was only one mention him and he was never seen again same goes with gaunyin

For the second one

It would personally be toxic now yes it seems they did make up but me personally I wouldn’t want to date or marry the guy who killed me by using his staff as a baseball bat and blame me for getting him stuck into a mountain and then when I come back to life I am blind in one eye

And I don’t want to date the guy who attacked my master and trying to take over my mountain and then ATE MY SUBJECTS while trying to pretend to be me and later tried to kill me and my student and later hunt us down for us to be killed by a crazy bone winter witch

And for the last

They call themselves sworn brothers not before you say anything to me when someone has a relationship with the word brother father mother sister aunt uncle in the sentence I automatically think they are family

So seeing them being in a relationship makes it sick to my stomach and plus they do act like slibings Hell wukong even called the two of them Monkey bros (abit out of topic but as he said that it reminded of me of the Mario brothers) but anyways you can see what I’m going with

Now I believe you can ship whatever you want as long as it isn’t toxic or harmful as long your just having fun then good

But please don’t force your ships upon people and to not ingore the character could be in a canon relationship let’s not turn monkie kid into a toxic place let’s don’t this become the next undertale fandom or anything let’s turn this into a fun community with friendly and respectful fans who knows how to draw the line at

I just want to direct you to this big long post I made refuting these counter arguments.

The TLDR is that disability has a very specific form of representation that you are likely familiar with, and it literally just does not work like that. The only extra thing I have to add in terms of refuting is that Mario probably let Luigi carry the toolbox because he would be unable to do his sick parkour stunts if he did.

Also, as the one who was (as far as I am aware) the first person to bring this idea to attention, I do just want to say it is a bit rude to try and argue against disabled people finding themselves represented in characters. I am not mad or anything, but this is the same as when people try and refute things like queer headcanons by bringing up, "Oh but XYZ happened so they can't be gay!"

Luigi is definitely not intended to be disabled. Disabled people do not get representation, certainly not like that. The intention of the line was a one off joke I would assume. That does not really mean that headcanons need to be argued against in my opinion.

I am not mad, just a bit tired. It is just something to keep in mind. I do not imagine you would find it particularly nice if this was about other representation like LGBTQ+ stuff or neurodivergency. Also, I would really encourage you to read that post I made, since this is coming from a place of just not understanding the vastness disability.

Consider the facts:

Luigi, in the Mario Movie, has expressed that he has “bad knees,” which explains why he’s not as physically adept as his brother and has trouble keeping up with him.

But in the Mario games Luigi often has a higher jump, and is even able to run in mid air for a short period of time. Odd that they would give the Mario Brother who has those sorts of abilities knee problems, right?

Yoshis also have a higher jump than Mario, and are able to run in mid air for a short period of time using an ability called “flutter jump” (though this ability goes by many names depending on the game.)

Yoshi is practically confirmed to be in the sequel, and it can be assumed from the post-credits sequence that he is going to be a lost, newly hatched child rather than an old friend that rescued Mario and Luigi as babies.

This version of Yoshi’s origin story bears a lot of similarity to the old Super Mario Brothers cartoon, in which Luigi becomes a mother figure to Yoshi after finding him abandoned at the bottom of a pit. 

What if in the next movie, Luigi is struggling to keep up with his brother due to his ongoing physical issues. Meanwhile, he adopts this strange little dino creature that he found lost in Brooklyn, taking him in and raising him until he can be safely released into the wild. As a result, The Yoshis consider Luigi part of the pack, and bestow upon him their jumping/hovering abilities through some form of mystical blessing or permanent powerup.

Personal Opinion: Why did you break up?! I was there and I still don’t get it! But seriously, this sequel to What If It’s Us is just beautifully written and the ending is the ultimate pay off for Arthur’s and Ben’s slow burn pining. Every frustrating page where they’re jealous or wanting to be together becomes worth it when you see them finally get back together. Here’s to them, indeed.

Do I Own This Book? Nope. Like What If It’s Us, I might buy it if I see it in a store and I have the money to spend.

Spoilers Below For My Likes & Dislikes:

Likes:

- Oh my god, I am literally so giddy after reading this. Those last few chapters and the epilogue stole my heart and ran away with it. It was the ultimate payoff after all that slow burn pining because not only did Ben and Arthur finally get together again, but they’re also getting married! Those vows were the sweetest thing. And the fact that Arthur’s vows started the same way as his missed connections post from eight years ago, like that is romantic as fuck. I was just rooting for this couple so hard and I was so mad that the two of them just kept missing the signals that when it finally happened, I almost screamed. 

- Dylan is once again the best. He’s literally so funny. But also his banter with Ben and his girlfriend Samantha was just exquisite. I love that moment when Samantha set a timer for Dylan to stay quiet and then he added to the timer himself after he spoke, even though he only spoke to say “I love you” to his girlfriend! They’re such a cute couple and it just makes me so happy to see that they worked out. Especially because they have such a good rapport now and they’re hilarious together. Like a comedy duo. But also, they’re so adorably romantic too. The fact that Dylan had proposed with the key to their first dorm because he wanted to share all their homes made me want to cry. I almost did.

- Sammy! Dylan’s son is the most adorable thing and he is hilarious too. The way he’s just an agent of chaos. I can’t. He was only in the epilogue and I loved him. The way he tried to sell Ben’s own belonging back to him for a random $11.17 and the way he just firmly said, “Get another dog” to a couple that wasn’t even his parents.

- Oh my god, the proposal, I almost forgot the goddamn proposal. I knew it was coming but I was still sitting there with bated breath when Ben told Arthur to read his book for him. The dedication page being for his “forever husband” had me losing it in the best way.

- I know I’m only focusing on the ending of this story but it’s because it’s the best part. I do love the way they reconnect and I love the way they slowly realized they were still in love. I mean, their jealousy was not cute but the way they tried so hard to be happy for the other was. I love how much they just could not stand being out of each other’s lives. They really needed each other and it’s just so heartrendingly cute. What a fucking love story.

- Jessie and Ethan are talking again and it makes me so happy to know they got their own happy endings. Jessie is still a great best friend but oh my god, Ethan! When he came out as bi to Arthur, everything clicked into place. The way he was so weird when Arthur came out suddenly made so much more sense. But I love that their friendship became stronger because of it. Also, Ethan’s bi awakening being Mario’s Instagram is so funny to me for some reason.

- Mikey is so sweet. Oh my god, I feel so bad for him. He really showed up to New York and serenaded Arthur in front of a whole crowd despite being an introvert who doesn’t like PDA. I feel so bad for him for being a plot device for Arthur realizing his true feelings but what a plot device to read. I adore him as a character and I wish him the best with Zach.

- I love Mario too. He’s clearly all about having fun and even though I’m guessing that he’s not into commitment or labels, I love that he stayed in their lives. He seemed genuinely so happy for them too and I love that he kept that teddy bear from that one group hang they had at Dave and Buster’s. It’s so precious and I love that he’s just a good dude.

- That moment when Arthur and Taj rearranged the set for Jacob and it was perfect for Jacob’s vision was beautiful to me. Because it was Arthur’s big dream but he was feeling lost. It wasn’t until that moment that it truly clicked for him and I love that for him. It’s just such a good scene overall but most of all, I love how Jacob and Taj became these queer uncles that helped Arthur see that he just needed to confess his feelings to Ben. And oh. My. God. That confession scene had my heart palpitating. It was such a good scene.

- I don’t think I emphasized enough on how funny Dylan is. His sex jokes, his quick wit, his unreasonable hate for Patrick. 

Dislikes:

- Why did you guys break up?! I was there and I still don’t get it! At any point, during the two years you guys were talking, Ben could have said, “I want to try long-distance with you.” Especially since he was clearly still hung up on Arthur. Arthur was right when he said, “Because we’re both dumbasses who can’t see what’s right in front of them.” My god, it feels like I wasted two years of my own life watching these idiots just pine for each other instead of just being together!

- I got nothing else. I feel bad for Mikey but that’s pretty much it. It really is such a shame that Arthur basically strung this boy along before he realized he was still in love with Ben but the payoff was so good. I just hope Mikey’s heart has healed since then. It probably has since he’s with someone new. 

- This isn’t really a complaint but more like a confused observation but uhhhh, Dylan realizes that Mario and Luigi are brothers, right? They may be a power duo but the fact that he’s just kept on referring to Mario and Ben as Mario and Luigi when they were sleeping together is just so weird to me.

Stay Golden Supplement: Season Two Recap

We’ve come to the end of the second season of The Golden Girls, which has some of its best episodes as well as some of its worst. Let’s take a look back and check the slice ratings, as well as hand out some awards to the guest characters.

Picture It...

The Golden Girls reached new heights in Season 2, as the lead actresses had settled into their roles and were given better stories and better lines to work with. This is the season where we got our first (and, I would argue, best) celebrity cameo with Burt Reynolds, our first LGBTQ-centered episode (and happy Pride Month, by the way!), and some of the most memorable jokes in the whole season. We also somehow got the worst episode in the entire show’s run, the episode for which I create a special low rating in the slice system. But that’s an anomaly, luckily.

I’ve chosen not to make any slice changes for this season. Looking back over my ratings, I feel that all of the ones I made so far are fair. I won’t know until I eventually wrap this whole series up which season is the best of the show -- and I’m not sure I can pick, anyway -- but this season is definitely a contender. Once again, keep in mind these ratings are based on my own opinion, and I welcome any contrary opinions.

Cheesecake by the Numbers

Eliminating “Empty Nests” as an outlier, this is quite a balanced slice list. I thought there would be more five-slicers for some reason, but 6 is definitely not bad.

Best Episode: “Isn’t It Romantic?”

I think it wouldn’t be a stretch to call this both the best episode of the season, but also the most important one. While I’m not the expert on LGBTQ+ history in the 80s, I don’t think I need to be to claim that having an episode like this -- where a lesbian is treated with compassion, understanding, and respect --was not common at the time. Lois Nettleton gives a beautifully understated performance as Jean. And Rue McClanahan steals the whole show with two back-to-back jokes in one scene: Lebanese/lesbian, and her absolute offense . . . that Jean is in love with Rose and not her.

Worst Episode: “Empty Nests”

You saw this coming, I’m sure. But just because it’s obvious doesn’t mean it’s not true. The producers could not have whiffed this backdoor pilot harder if they tried. Even if I could get over how little of the Girls are in this episode, the story doesn’t hold up to any degree of scrutiny. Rita Moreno is underserved as the lead, and the rest of the characters are perhaps the most annoying in the history of the show. I’ve yet to meet a Golden Girls fan who will defend this episode, and I think every new fan out there can safely press the skip button when this one comes up in the shuffle.

Best Guest Performance: Nancy Walker in “Sisters” and “Long Day’s Journey Into Marinara”

This was a tough award to give out, because we had some great contenders: Lyn Greene, Lois Nettleton, Nan Martin. We’ve also had several big names show up, including George Clooney, Mario Lopez, and Burt Reynolds. But I think this award belongs to Nancy Walker, who absolutely owned the role of Aunt Angela, Sophia’s sister and Dorothy’s aunt. In both of her appearances, she strikes the perfect balance, not being too similar to Estelle Getty while also being similar enough to telegraph that they’re sisters. She handles the humor like a pro, she’s no stranger to a bit of gravitas, and she has great chemistry with everyone but especially Estelle.

Scoundrel of the Season: Patrick Vaughn

I’ve decided to make the “Worst Boyfriend” Award a running thing -- the Girls do date some real winners after all. But in this case, I’m going to call it “Scoundrel” because the worst boyfriend need not always be an unlikeable douchebag. He just needs to be the worst person one of the Girls has dated this season. While I was tempted to give the award to a few different men this season, I don’t think the Girls did too badly by themselves this season. Out of all of them, Patrick Vaughn is probably the biggest scoundrel, somehow juggling the three Girls (and a dozen other women) during his brief sojourn in Miami. 

Special Season Award: Best Verbal Smackdown

In most of the first season, Sophia was sort of shoved to the periphery, in part because she was originally intended to be a side character and the creators were caught off-guard by her popularity. The second episode of the season, “Ladies of the Evening,” almost feels like a cathartic revenge on behalf of the character for being sidelined. When the Girls try to refuse Sophia tickets to meet Burt Reynolds, she proceeds to feed them their own words in possibly the best instance of the trope ever put to television.

My favorite joke of the season

The P-Feiffer P-Funeral scene from “It’s a Miserable Life” is nothing but great laughs for everyone involved. This episode takes what could have been a sad concept -- the Girls’ neighbor dying unexpected -- and wrings every last bit of dark humor from it. The above clip doesn’t capture the whole scene, but we do get to see great lines from just about everyone in this scene. It’s 3 solid minutes of some of the most densely packed comedy the Girls ever produced, and it’s a great scene to show to someone who doesn’t who doesn’t know the show to demonstrate its greatness to them.

Why I hate video games

Video games are distracting stupid and offensive

1. GTA auto has sex in it and children play the game which will influence them to do bad stuff like have sex at an early age, this game should be banned as a matter of fact never made because it has drugs weapons, you can even break the law in the game.

2. Shooter games will make kids shoot up schools because the fact that the game has guns especially super smash bros ultimate which has at least two characters with a gun one who is a lady and I’m very disappointed that they made a women wield a gun. Call of duty should absolutely be banned. Based on my research kids play this game and when they play they show serial killer tendencies and it scares me.

3. Mario Kart promotes road rage. For a children’s game I expect kid friendly characters having a nice little race. BUT NO. There is characters literally hurting each other just to come out on top. This promotes greed.

4. Kid friendly characters are getting sexualized. This is NOT OKAY. I see a nine year old getting sexualized all because she looks cute. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE as it promotes children in becoming pedophiles. I’m very disappointed in how the internet is going right now.

5. Fortnite is for sociopaths. Fortnite promotes violence and you have no feelings for other human beings. You kill everyone so that you can turn out on top. Kids watch ninja and when I watch his shows he clearly has some form of mental issues which will make kids do the same thing as there “icon”. I’m so sick of this ninja guy.

6. Donkey Kong promotes steroids. Kirby promotes obesity he swallows people in whole. This is absolutely just stupid. Now there promoting drugs and overeating.

7. Just dance promotes body shaming. It doesn’t represent lgbtq community and I don’t see overweight people getting represented in just dance this is offensive.

8. Splatoon promotes vandalism and gang violence. Why do I see little kids dressed as octopuses VANDALISING THE WHOLE damn place. Unacceptable.

9. Minecraft promotes ANIMAL ABUSE and they destroy environments. We are in a world where cute animals are about to be extinct and global warming is slowly coming forth.

10. Sonic the Hedgehog promotes speeding. Everyone wants to be quick and when they see sonic they want to be like him. When they get a car they are gonna die because they “gotta go fast.

11. Connect 4 promotes segregation only putting the reds with reds and yellow with yellow what if they want to be together.

12. CANDYLAND promotes diabetes.

13. Sorry sliders promotes mean gestures.

14. Pokémon promotes animal dominance and abuse. This game also promotes SLAVERY. Slavery ended and Pokémon is on the low trying to get it back. UNACCEPTABLE. Absolutley disgusting.

The reason why this generation of kids is immature is because of games. GAMES should be banned. I have a child and he is a very smart and mature man. He doesn’t need games for entertainment. If you say that I am a bad mother because I don’t let my child play games. Board games are the reason why my child is doing well. Board games are entertainment/educational. LGBTQ VN Week: Day Four! (6/21)

Wow, we’re already at the fourth day of LGBTQ visual novel recommendations! You’ve probably seen this preface on previous parts of this list, but if you haven’t read my first post, that writeup’s “One note before we get started” section, explains more clearly what this list is and why I’m writing it!

Plenty of visual novels talk about sex and intimacy, so for today, I’ve set aside four with my personal favorite approaches to the topic — CODE:Phantasm’s 404 Error: Connection Not Found, parade’s No Thank You!!!, SugarScript’s Cute Demon Crashers, and Mitch Alexander’s Tusks: An Orc Dating Sim, plus a conversation with Mitch about his creative process on Tusks.

404 ERROR: CONNECTION NOT FOUND (CODE:PHANTASM)

Itchio Tagline: “Sometimes connecting to others is harder than loneliness.” Genre(s): Slice of life; drama. Release Date: July 30th, 2017 (demo); TBA (full version). Content Warnings: Text-only depiction of sex and sex work; adult content.

404 Error: Connection Not Found is the story of Ren Matsuura, a camboy who ran away from home after turning eighteen and supports himself financially through camming — but thanks to his agoraphobia and general anxiety, he rarely goes outside, to the point that he’s pared all his social connections down to casual conversations with his clients and lying to his younger brother Haru about what he does for a living. When his brother decides to come visit for the first time since Ren moved out, Ren is forced to confront the fact that his guilt and shame have driven him into a corner with no support system. In the span of the demo, he starts to try and reach out to the clients he has a more regular relationship with to prepare him for Haru’s eventual visit, ending on a cliffhanger that seems to be leading directly into the plotline of the main story.

This visual novel’s demo is the shortest of all the stories on my entire list, to my knowledge, but it’s also the most memorable demo I’ve played in a long, long while. As someone who’s had to contend with similar mental illnesses in the past — paranoia and agoraphobia unsurprisingly have a pretty high degree of comorbidity! — I felt like Ren’s slow struggle to make progress for the sake of his younger brother was written sincerely, thoughtfully, and believably in the timespan of a single demo playthrough. Ren can be funny, when he’s not spiraling internally, and his rocky progress at trying to talk to others more honestly is loaded with plenty of funny jokes and quips about his takes on things. He’s a sympathetic, well-rounded protagonist who comes across strongly in the demo alone, and I ended up really rooting for him to make it to a place where he was happier with his life.

There’s another aspect to the story that I ended up really liking, too: the fact that sex work, especially jobs like camming, can be extremely common among LGBTQ people who can’t support themselves financially in other ways. Ren can’t go outside and can’t interact with many people without severe, earth-shattering anxiety attacks (a few of which we see in the demo!), so this job is what he’s got. It’s a job that’s sustained him for years, and although it’s certainly fed into his own relative isolation, 404 Error seemed to walk that careful balance of making it explicit that it’s Ren’s own lack of steady support for his mental illness instead of the simple fact that he does sex work that causes his interpersonal problems. I’m optimistic about the remainder of the story’s handling of those kinds of things, too, because what was present in the demo was sympathetic and sincere! There’s not very many sex workers or camgirls/camboys in visual novels outside of an extremely tiny handful, let ones alone in conjunction to stories that acknowledge of the way LGBTQ people as a whole can struggle with more convential jobs, so Ren’s genuinely empathetic personality and the hope I have for his future makes me excited to see where CODE:Phantasm takes 404 Error from here.

NO THANK YOU!!! (PARADE)

MangaGamer Tagline: “This summer vacation begins with a car accident...” Genre(s): Comedy; drama; mystery. Release Date: June 28, 2013 (Japanese); February 27, 2015 (English).  Content Warnings: Adult content; multiple sex scenes; frequent sexual harassment; blood; drugs; violence; death.

Right off the bat, I think parade’s debut visual novel (as a studio, at least) does a lot of interesting things and definitely seems to be aiming high with creating distinct, memorable stories. The art in No Thank You!!! is gorgeous, its voice acting is top-tier, a lot of the side characters are compelling even beyond the space or role the narrative gives them, and the love interests alone are all fully-realized characters with interesting stories. Romance option Ryu’s route, in particular, fleshes out the larger sense of mystery and the other characters to an astounding degree! That’s to say nothing of the most unique mechanic — which I mostly call the NTY!!! button — that offers you the chance to say “no thank you” in a variety of scenes without always telling you what it is you’re saying that to. It’s occasionally a little too easy to guess, but at certain points I ended up lulled into a false sense of security with that easiness that the game was all too ready to take advantage of with a much less obvious choice.

One of the sticking points with No Thank You!!! that I’ve seen other players express, on the other hand, is the way protagonist Haru is written. That’s not to say his writing specifically is bad — parade clearly had a vision in mind for Haru’s personality, and from his sketchy beginnings to his clearer end, he’s a coherent character with a consistent narrative. While the crux of the story is more insight into Haru, where he came from, and what the truth behind all those mysteries might be, though, Haru’s behavior still underpins a lot of what drives the romance routes forward. And his behavior... The official quote on his personality, “[s]exual harassment is an everyday activity for him,” can at times seem like it’s underselling exactly how often he tries to grab an ass. It’s no surprise that a fair few other players I’ve seen have walked away with pretty strong opinions on Haru as a character. (I’m personally not a huge fan.)

But to me, a divisive protagonist who you don’t actually fully understand as a character — Haru’s thoughts on a lot of key things are far less accessible than the likes of Aoba Seragaki or most Western M/M protagonists, which leaves you knowing most of his thoughts or feelings via his interactions from others — seems to go perfectly hand-in-hand with the way the visual novel as a whole operates. No Thank You!!! puts you at a distance by Haru’s viewpoint being occasionally “indecipherable” (to use the official phrasing), and then it throws you further with its sometimes-unpredictable NTY!!! button mechanic, but the strength of its other individual pieces taken together still sold me on it as both a solid set of mystery stories and an 18+ dating sim.

Also I really like Maki.

CUTE DEMON CRASHERS (SUGARSCRIPT)

Itchio Tagline: “A short and silly consent-friendly and sex-positive VN!” Genre(s): Modern fantasy. Release Date: April 7th, 2015 (Mirari and Akki’s routes); August 15th, 2015 (full version). Content Warnings: Multiple sex scenes; detailed uncensored nudity.

I don’t think I could sum up Cute Demon Crashers better than the Itch.io tagline does — it’s short, it’s hilarious, and it’s got an emphasis on consent that meshes perfectly with its goofy “a bunch of incubi and one succubus come to the mortal realm to have sex” plot. The characters are all charming and fit perfectly into its universe, with distinct personalities that come across clearly without ever feeling hamfisted in the limited time that the script lets you spend with them. Although this isn’t necessarily a romance game, especially given that incubi and succubi are “closer to what people know of as aromantic” according to the SugarScript FAQ, its cute, thoughtful writing and adorable design in everything from the characters to the user interface mean that there’s plenty of love infused in every aspect of Cute Demon Crashers.

Like yesterday’s We Know The Devil, Cute Demon Crashers is one of those visual novels with a distinct, memorable mechanic that almost placed it squarely in Tuesday’s creative design list. Cute Demon Crashers is one of the first visual novels — or, by my experience, the first altogether — to implement a mechanic specifically themed around stopping in the middle of sex. If you’re ever uncomfortable or you just plain want the scene to end, you can hit a button and protagonist Claire will talk with her partner to bring things to a close. (There’s also an option to just plain old not have sex with any of them, and spending time with the characters!) A lot of the dialogue in these scenes in particular is thoughtful, nuanced, and reads to me as being a pretty realistic depiction of how someone like Claire might ask those questions or express those kinds of concerns. 

The way Cute Demon Crashers handles intimacy and sexuality, by another measure, is one of those things that I think has also had a not-insignificant impact on the visual novel community as a whole; I’ve seen a fair number of people who’ve apparently never enjoyed an 18+ dating sim before talk about how its portrayal of sex resonated with them or brought them some measure of comfort. Because of the SugarScript team’s relative investment in the English-language visual novel scene as a whole, too — this project was born out of NaNoRenO and I’ve seen them promote development forum hub LemmaSoft or other small visual novels more than once — the compassion for the player that’s written into every aspect of Cute Demon Crashers seems to extend naturally to everyone else around the team in real life, which is something extremely special.

Mitch Alexander’s Tusks: The Orc Dating Sim, from head to toe, is one of my favorite depictions of sex and intimacy in video games — and with every gradual update, especially the most recent FUARLANG build that finished out the mai storyline, I’ve only become more sure of that. There’s an endearingly genuine quality to its art, character dialogue, and even in things like the NPC autonomy feature, where your companions have just as many chances to sway things like group votes or decide who’s on watch as you would without NPC autonomy being enabled. 

Interested to hear Mitch talk a little bit about his design process and the inspiration behind Tusks, I got in touch and asked him a few questions!

Thanks for taking the time for an interview, Mitch! While the title might be fairly self-explanatory, haha, how would you outline Tusks: An Orc Dating Sim in more detail to somebody new?

Tusks is a visual novel where the player joins a group at an annual orcish gathering, in a forest at the edge of a semi-mythical version of Scotland, and you then travel with this new found family and get to know them better. Most of the game is your group getting into adventures, talking to them one-on-one at camp at nighttime, and making decisions about how to go about your travels. The game's cast are all queer, and the game itself is an exploration of queer identity, community, history, and our relationship with the idea of monstrosity/Otherness.

I think it's fair to say that Tusks, as well as your larger body of work, deals a lot with intimacy and sexuality, especially the intersection between those two things; this is probably a question you've thought over yourself a fair bit, but what in particular interests you about those topics that drives you to explore them in Tusks and your other work?

Part of it is the fact that intimacy and sexuality are areas that can be massively important to queer people (especially since many of us are marginalised as a result of our sexuality being seen as deviant) but there aren't a lot of mainstream sources that play with intimacy and sexuality in relevant ways. And part of it is just because exploring sexuality for its own sake can be fun as well!

Definitely! There's always room for more fun with depictions of sexuality, haha. The premise for an all-orc dating sim is definitely a memorable one, and one you've fleshed out incredibly well with the thoughtfulness of your worldbuilding and character dynamics. What was the original inspiration that you built Tusks on, and what helped carry you across the finishing line of completing (for the most part) its story?

It was a lot of different threads coming together: I'd been playing a modded Skyrim save with an orc character who, in my head, was gay and had left his stronghold so to find other orcs like him and establish his own wee found family. That happened at the same time as me finding out about the NaNoReNo visual novel game jam, plus wanting to work on a game that actually put queer characters and discussions first and foremost rather than us just being a token presentation.

As for what carried me through, there was lots of things: the excitement of getting to tell stories that you just don't see in mainstream games, getting amazing feedback from players, and then at the end when I released the full main story on New Years', it was sheer bloody-mindedness.

There's a fair few interesting mechanics in Tusks, especially with regards to NPC autonomy; can you share a little bit of insight on why you decided to include those and how they function in the code?

NPC autonomy's a small but effective way of just slightly upsetting this idea that in visual novels, the player character gets to make all the decisions -- it automatically puts you in a decision-making leader role, and it's up to the writer then to narratively justify that -- which can be difficult if you're wanting to tell a story about a group of equal partners. So instead, NPC autonomy lets characters vote on things or lets characters potentially turn you down for romantic encounters.

It's an optional feature, so it's possible to play the game without it being on -- it just slightly changes the flow of the story and makes it seem a tad-bit more like you're part of a collective, if that makes sense.

Yeah, that makes sense! I think my playthroughs where NPC autonomy was on were definitely more interesting, by and large, because it really does add a lot to that sense of cooperation and community.

If you had to pick just one, what non-human (and non-orc) creature do you think more people should appreciate?

I'm really interested in exploring things with strong mythological connotations like minotaurs, since they're surrounded by particular ideas like labyrinths, being half-human and half-animal. I'd also really like to see someone explore the monstrousness of hags from [Dungeons and Dragons], because I think there's probably a way to talk about them and explore their relationships to femininity, presentation, glamour magick, witchcraft, and power.

Good choices! Those are both definitely really interesting ones. To wrap things up, are there any LGBTQ visual novels from other developers that you'd like to recommend?

I'd recommend checking out The Bitter Drop, by Isak Grozny; Ladykiller in a Bind by Christine Love, and We Know the Devil by Date Nighto!

Ok so I reblogged this thing a few days ago, and even though nobody asked me questions, I’m still going to answer them, because I really like doing these things and maybe, just maybe, there’s someone out there that’s actually interested in my answers to these questions but was too shy to ask me or didn’t see the post. But now the answers will be in my personal tag forever. Yay ^-^

1. What is your full name? Skylar Elliott (Dutch last name). (I’m not sure if I wanna post my last name on tumblr…)

2. What is your nickname? I don’t really have a nickname… everyone calls me Sky though, I guess that counts…

3. What is your zodiac sign?   Gemini! 

4. What is your favorite book series? Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I have never enjoyed reading a book as much as I enjoyed reading these books.

5. Do you believe in aliens or ghosts? I don’t know? I’d like to say I believe in aliens and ghosts but there’s always this voice in the back of my head that tells me that it’s “cool, but they don’t actually excist because it hasn’t been proven”. Although I do believe that aliens must be out there somewhere I mean the universe is so big we cannot be the only life forms. I just think aliens are so much more different than we humans can even imagine.

6. Who is your favorite author? Rick Riordan! Very sassy, author of my favourite book series and cares a lot about representation in books which is very gud.

7. What is your favorite radio station? I mean I don’t really listen to the radio but I kinda like skyradio because it has part of my name in it and I also love npo2 between christmas and new years eve because they play a top2000 of music that you can vote for and it’s really fun. (These are both dutch stations I believe, so if you don’t recognise these stations, that’s why)

8. What is your favorite flavor of anything? Usually strawberry. Strawberry ice cream, strawberry sweets, strawberry sauce, strawberry lemonade, strawberry tea, strawberry smoothies… I love them all.

9. What word would you use often to describe something great or wonderful? “Awesome” or “cool” 

10. What is your current favorite song? Heaven - Troye Sivan ft. Betty Who Prove me wrong - Fireflight Escape - Fireflight They share the first place so I listed them all. I literally cannot choose. 

Heaven makes me feel much lgbtq+ pride and happiness, as well as sadness and determination to change the world. Plus I can really relate and let my emotions out by listening to this song

Escape is a very good song about overcoming fears and, again, I can really relate to this song. I really like the refrain because when singing it I can really throw my emotions into this and let them out. Again, this song fills me with determination to change the world and the way I handle problems. It makes me feel stronger. And the ending is really reassuring and beautiful.

Prove me wrong, I can also really relate to. It’s about being insecure about yourself but then someone else helps you see that you are actually a really nice person. It reminds me of my friends.

11. What is your favorite word? Ethereal -  “Extremely delicate and light in a way that seems not to be of this world” 

12. What was the last song you listened to? Heaven - Troye Sivan ft. Betty Who (listening to it right now)

13. What TV show would you recommend for everybody to watch? Brooklyn Nine-Nine because it’s hillarious and very progressive and inclusive and the characters are very lovable.

14. What is your favorite movie to watch when you’re feeling down? Probably just any Harry Potter movie. They never get old.

15. Do you play video games? Sometimes. I’m not that big of a fan of videogames but I like games like life is stranger or all the harry potter games and I sometimes play mario with my brother.

16. What is your biggest fear? I’m afraid of my house setting fire and I’m kinda afraid of all bugs but I think my biggest fear is wasting my life and dying unhappy and unfulfilled. 

17. What is your best quality, in your opinion? I’m a very positive person and I have and okay face and I make bad jokes (that I secretly think are hillarious). And I always try to learn and improve myself and become the best person I can be.

18. What is your worst quality, in your opinion? I’m insecure about EVERYTHING and I overthink every move I make in life and that makes me feel like I’m failing everything and everyone especially the people I care about.

19. Do you like cats or dogs better? Cats! I think dogs are very cute but irl I kinda shy away from dogs because I’m still lowkey scared of dogs but cats are so cuddly and cute and I want

20. What is your favorite season? Probably fall. Because of Halloween and the leaves FALLing (get it? Fall, falling. haha) from the trees and the colours and the wind and the whole leadup to christmas. I also like that the temperature isn’t to high or to low. Winter’s too cold and summer’s to hot and spring is okay but not that special.

21. Are you in a relationship? Nope. But right now I’m only interested in friendships anyway so I don’t mind. (also being both ace and trans I kinda feel like it’s impossible to find anyone who’d actually want to date me so I kinda just… don’t bother. Transition first, relationships later)

22. What is something you miss from your childhood? I miss that I was so social and talked to everyone without restraint or fear. And I miss having the time to read.

24. What is your eye color? Brown. There’s some green in them somewhere too if you look really closely but it’s mostly brown.

25. What is your hair color? Also brown but I’ve been thinking about dyeing it for a long time… but usually I can’t because my acting class won’t allow it.

26. Who is someone you love? My siblings, my parents, my best friends, my grandparents, my household, my pets (although pets aren’t really people but I LOVE THEM OKAY)

27. Who is someone you trust? My siblings and my best friends. I could tell them anything.

28. Who is someone you think about often? I hope this doesn’t sound weird but My best friends. They make me happy and they’re a big part of my life even though I don’t see them nearly as often as I should. And I guess, because of that, I just miss them often. 

29. Are you currently excited about/for something? I’m in the middle of the process of legally changing my name and gendermarker! I cannot wait to see them on my new ID!!

30. What is your biggest obsession? At the moment definately VOLTRON (season 2 was so guddd)

31. What was your favorite TV show as a child? I used to loooooove Zack and Cody. And after that I started to enjoy ICarly and Victorious a lot. I used to spend whole weekends watching these shows. 

32. Who of the opposite gender can you tell anything to, if anyone? My best friends and my sister.

33. Are you superstitious? A little bit. I mean I know it’s bullshit but somewhere, in the back of my mind, I still believe bringing “lucky items” to stressfull situations will help me somehow.

34. Do you have any unusual phobias? Uhh… not really? I mean the only thing I can think of is that I cannot sleep in a room with, for example, my mom, because I know she snores and then I am so afraid that it’ll keep me awake that I cannot sleep… -_-

35. Do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it? I prefer to be in front of the camera because being behind the camera makes me responsible for the final product while being in front of the camera comes pretty natural to me. My granddad always films every important family event and I grew up with a love for acting and being on stage so… I like that.

36. What is your favorite hobby? Watching a show that is soooo goood you just have to binge it and being on the edge of your seat the whole time and just getting lost in it basically. 

37. What was the last book you read? A book for school. “Two women” by Harry Mulish. I didn’t really like it. *spoilers* a lesbian main character was killed in the last two pages just as I thought she’d live happily ever after -_-

38. What was the last movie you watched? Iron man… I think… yeah I watched that the day before my brothers birthday when his friend stayed over.

39. What musical instruments do you play, if any? I play the piano! I’m not that good at it but hey, I enjoy it.

40. What is your favorite animal? I really like Lions. They’re like big cats and also super majestic.

41. 42. What superpower do you wish you had? I’d love to be able to fly, but, as a trans guy, I think shapeshifting would probably make me the happiest.

43. When and where do you feel most at peace? In the cinema. Just comfortably sitting in a chair with food. My only responsibilities being watching a movie, keeping my mouth shut and eating. Perfect.

44. What makes you smile? Music, My friends, A happy scene in a tv-show or book, a very bad joke, realising how much I love the people that matter to me, having an actual nice social interaction that wasn’t in any way awkward, gender euforia, doing something I love.

45. What sports do you play, if any? …Have you ever seen me trying to exercise? 

46. What is your favorite drink? Fresh Lemonade. I had some in Greece and it was literally the best thing I’ve ever tasted… Why don’t we have that in the Netherlands :’(

47. When was the last time you wrote a hand-written letter or note to somebody? Probably sometime when I left the house to get some groceries and didn’t know when my dad would be home so I left him a note on the table

48. Are you afraid of heights? It depends. If I’m walking next to a very deep drop I’m terrified I’ll fall, but in a rollercoaster, on a plane, or even a on bus that’s driving on narrow roads next to a massive ravine, I have no problem with heights. I guess I just don’t trust myself at great heights because of my clumsiness. 

49. What is your biggest pet peeve? Whenever I’m trying to concentrate on something I cannot handle it when people ! start ! to ! eat ! crisps ! or ! nuts ! or ! something ! VERY ! LOUDLY !!!! Somehow this mainly happens around my mom and sister and not really anyone else but sometimes it gets so bad I literally have to leave the room. Also snoring… because if someone starts to snore I will not be able to sleep for hours unless I have my phone and some earbuds nearby.

50. Have you ever been to a concert? Yes! I’ve seen Al di Meola (when I was six, with my dad), Lissie, Maria Mena, Delain, Within Temptation (twice), Vanessa Carlton and K3 and I’m gonna see Lindsey Stirling in March!

51. Are you vegan/vegetarian? Nope! But my dad is vegan so half of the time the only meat I eat is the sausage on my sandwiches.

52. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? Cassier, Artist, Inventor, Archaologist, Game-Designer, Actor, Writer, Idfk. All in this order.

53. What fictional world would you like to live in? I’d love to live in the world from Avatar: The Last Airbender because it’s basically the same as ours only with DRAGONS and BENDING and all other kinds of cool animals and cool stuff.

54. What is something you worry about? In a week and a half I have test-week and then in a little more than a month I have another test week and then in May I have my final exams and I have SO MUCH LEFT to study and SO MANY PROJECTS left to do and SO MANY BOOKS left to read and I worry I will never pass and die in the process and start hating my life. (which I already kind of do because of school, but hey, only four months left… only four months left…)

55. Are you scared of the dark? Depends. Around 8pm I have no problem with the dark but around 11pm/12pm/1am I am not a fan of walking down two sets of stairs to go to the toilet.

56. Do you like to sing? YES. Omg I absolutely love singing!! I sing everyday and I’m also in a choir (that has been founded for trans people specifically so I don’t have to worry about my high voice) which is super awesome and I love it.

57. Have you ever skipped school? Nope. At least not without my parent’s permission.

58. What is your favorite place on the planet? Probably just any cinema or my home. They’re both places I can just feel at ease and eat.

59. Where would you like to live? Tbh I am perfectly happy in the places I live right now and I don’t think I’ll ever move far away from here, but it would be supercool to live in London!

60. Do you have any pets? Yes! I have two guinea pigs (who are both supercute and cuddly) and a cat (who is supercute, but anything but cuddly)!

61. Are you more of an early bird or a night owl? Night owl. Mornings are for sleep

62. Do you like sunrises or sunsets better? Sunsets because sunsets happen around my favourite time of the day, and I only see sunrises if I have to wake up very early or if I’ve pulled an all-nighter and I hate both of these things. Like I said, mornings are for sleep.

63. Do you know how to drive? No, I don’t. I will probably start lessons next year though!

64. Do you prefer earbuds or headphones? I prefer headphones because of the sound quality, but after I’ve worn my headphones for an entire day they always start to hurt because they press my glasses against my head and when I’m going outside earbuds are a lot easier to take with me. Same when I’m trying to listen something calming to fall asleep, earbuds are easier. 

65. Have you ever had braces? Yes, I’ve worn braces for about nine months when I was thirteen

66. What is your favorite genre of music? I don’t really have a favourite genre, but I really enjoy soundtracks, rock, some pop and some dubstep songs.

67. Who is your hero? I don’t really have a hero. There are a lot of people I look up to but I think that if I’d have to choose someone right now I’d choose Thomas Sanders because he’s just the nicest human on the planet and I aspire to make people laugh and smile like he does.

68. Do you read comic books? No, not really. They don’t really grab my attention the way books or tv-shows do and I always end up skimming the pages and spoiling myself.

69. What makes you the most angry? Ignorance. Whenever someone refuses to be open minded. Whenever someone claims to know something better than I do and refuses to listen to me. Whenever someone tells me how I should be feeling when they don’t even try to understand what I’m feeling. Whenever someone even tries to shit on my community, friends and interests. 

70. Do you prefer to read on an electronic device or with a real book? I prefer reading a real book because books never run out of power, smell good, and just give me that nice reading vibe. And because my e-reader is slow as heck and I have to wait ages for the pages to turn. 

71. What is your favorite subject in school? My favourite subject is probably Ancient Greek. I really like learning the ancient greek language and culture and I’m also pretty good at it. Plus my ancient greek class is a very nice group of people and we have an awesome teacher.

72. Do you have any siblings? Yes! I have a sister who’s eightteen and a brother who’s fourteen and I love them very much.

73. What was the last thing you bought? Last monday I bought myself crisps, cola and some liquorice candy because I had a sore throat. (edit: and today I bought some more crisps, some more cola, and candy’s agains coughing… they didn’t help)

74. How tall are you? Last time I checked (about nine months ago at the hospital) I was about 165 cm tall which is about 5’5″

75. Can you cook? … I can make eggs… and pancakes… and really easy pieces of meat that you basically only have to heat up in a pan…. And I can warm up soup from a can… and that’s about it I guess lol

76. What are three things that you love? Time for myself, watching tv-shows, rain. 

77. What are three things that you hate? playing sports, homework, stress.

78. Do you have more female friends or more male friends? Definately more female friends. I can’t relate as much with cis men and I don’t have that many trans people that are actively involved in my day to day life. Plus girls are amazing.

79. What is your sexual orientation? I identify as asexual. I don’t really understand what sexual attraction is exactly… and like… I do not understand how you can associate people you actually know in your life with sex without being creeped out? And the idea that people that are in a relationship are having sex with eachother just… really boggles my mind. Especially because to everyone it seems so normal? and then I’m just like “why would you do that…”

80. Where do you currently live? I have two houses (divorced parents) and I live in both a small city and a big village. They’re both about half an hour away from Rotterdam in the Netherlands but I’m not sure if I wanna post the exact places I live on tumblr…

81. Who was the last person you texted? My brother. He asked me which one of us would buy banana’s and chocolate. I said he should because I was still at school.

82. When was the last time you cried? Last sunday. I was super stressed out because of school. I had to finish a project and I had two hours left but my brain was dead so I kinda crashed.

83. Who is your favorite YouTuber? Phil Lester (AmazingPhil), Dan Howell (danisnotonfire), Sean McLaughlin (Jacksepticeye) and Chase Ross (uppercasechase1). Dan and Phil always make me laugh and make me feel appreciated and I love them and their video’s and their dynamic a lot, Jack feels like one of my closest friends and he’s such a nice and funny guy, and Chase has helped me so much with transition-related problems. They’re all amazing and I cannot imagine my life without them.

84. Do you like to take selfies? Yes, I do! A lot! Whenever I’m on a trip or I look good or I just feel like trying on some new clothes and stuff, I always make selfies.

85. What is your favorite app? Probably the tumblr app. I spend half my life on there. Nothing is better than using my tumblr app to avoid social contact.

86. What is your relationship with your parent(s) like? Really good. My mom is a very warm person that I can tell almost anything to. She’s very understanding and her hugs are very soft. She values my opinions a lot and is always there to listen to what I say. With my dad I find it harder to tell him everything but that’s probably because I get the feeling that he expects a bit more from me? Idk if that’s true though, might just be my imagination. But he’s a very chill and self-assured person and I like that it’s always so calm at his house, whereas at my moms house things can be very chaotic and sometimes stressfull. My dad is very open and very accepting and he keeps surprizing me with how much he’s okay with.  Overall my parents are really really nice. They support my transition and my life choices and they just want me to be happy. I couldn’t have wished for better parents. 

87. What is your favorite foreign accent? I really love scottish it’s amazing. A gift to humanity.

88. What is a place that you’ve never been to, but you want to visit? Japan!! I really wanna go there it seems so awesome!!

89. What is your favorite number? 13

90. Can you juggle? I can’t even aim, throw or catch a ball of course I can’t juggle

91. Are you religious? Nope

92. Do you find outer space of the deep ocean to be more interesting? Outer space. There are so many things left to discover and it’s so big!! It feels like everything is possible in space. Also it’s very pretty.

93. Do you consider yourself to be a daredevil? Not really. Whenever something scary happens, I’m out. I’ll run away as fast as I can.  I do really like rollercoaster and stuff though and I’d love to try and sky-dive or bungee-jump… but I guess that’s because I’m not the one who’s in control in these situations.

94. Are you allergic to anything? Not that I know…

95. Can you curl your tongue? Yup.

96. Can you wiggle your ears? A little bit

97. How often do you admit that you were wrong about something? I try to always admit it when I’m wrong about something. It’s a very decent thing to do and it prevents conflicts from happening or escalating. Plus you won’t really gain anything by refusing to admit you’re wrong about something.

98. Do you prefer the forest or the beach? The forest. I hate the beach. It’s either way too hot or way too cold and there’s sand everywhere I hate it.

99. What is your favorite piece of advice that anyone has ever given you? I don’t know. I can’t really remember all the advices I’ve ever been given, and I don't think that one piece of advice alone can have that much impact. It’s the combinations of all the advice you’ve ever had that really makes a difference. If you can combine different people’s experiences and advices you’ll figure out what to do by yourself. But I guess if I had to choose one piece of advise that I value, I’d say: “It’s good to think about others and help other people, as long as it isn’t at the expense of yourself. In the end, you are the most important to yourself. You are the one that has to live with yourself for the rest of your life. You shouldn’t always put others before yourself because you are important too and you deserve love and kindness and happiness too. You deserve to be happy” (I think most of this advice I actually got from markiplier, from his most recent believe in yourself video. It’s a very motivational video, go and watch it!)

100. Are you a good liar? Yes I am. I used to lie about everything to fit in with the cool kids and keep them as my friends. It was like second nature to me. I guess I did learn something from acting class…  I still lie a lot to my acting friends by the way, just because they party every week and I hate parties but if I tell the truth they think I don’t like them, which isn’t true at all. I like them! But I really hate parties… and they can be a bit draining to be around.

101. What is your Hogwarts House? You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil

102. Do you talk to yourself? Yep. Pretty often. Whenever I’m home alone I just sorta narrate my life. Sometimes I make it a musical!

103. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Introvert. Interacting with people is fun but after a while I really need time alone, it really drains my energy, especially when I am not feeling well anyway. The only interactions with people that actually give me energy are interactions with my closest friends and family.

104. Do you keep a journal/diary? I keep a transition-diary to write down the important moments related to transition, so I can read it back when I’m older and I won’t forget anything.

105. Do you believe in second chances? Yes. If someone is really willing to better themselves and are working hard to improve I think they deserve a second chance to give them the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. 

106. If you found a wallet full of money on the ground, what would you do? Probably leave it. I woudn’t want to go through either the trouble of handing it in or the guilt of not doing that, so I’d probably place it somewhere more noticable and let someone else decide what happens with it. 

107. Do you believe that people are capable of change? Yes. People go through all kinds of things in live and they keep learning and bettering themselves. If a person really wants to change then I believe they can, no matter how long it takes. They’ll get there.

108. Are you ticklish? Yes. Very. If you tickle me I start screaming and kicking and I sometimes fall on the floor. It’s my weakness…

109. Have you ever been on a plane? Eight times. To Rome and back, to portugal and back, twice to greece and back.

110. Do you have any piercings? Do earrings count? Because I wear earrings sometimes.

111. What fictional character do you wish was real? Aang. I feel like we would be pretty good friends and our world really needs the avatar tbh.

112. Do you have any tattoos? Nope. But I do want one. I just cannot decide what I would want on my body forever… probably either something avatar related (like the air-nation logo or something, because that’s really cool) or something transition-related because it’s such an important part of my life and it’s something about me that will never change.

113. What is the best decision that you’ve made in your life so far? Coming out and contacting the hospital to start my medical transition. Because without that, where would I be? I’d be the unhappiest little shit ever.

114. Do you believe in karma? Nope

115. Do you wear glasses or contacts? I’ve worn glasses ever since I was eight years old. I will never wear contacts. ever. They freak me out! Why would you put something in your eye.

116. Do you want children? I don’t know. I always wanted kids, but ever since I found out I was trans and realised that I couldn’t have them naturally, I’m not sure anymore, because I don’t know if I want to adopt. I think it’s really gonna depend on if I have a partner or not and what the possibilities are… we’ll see. Babies are very cute though… and I think I’d love being a dad, even though I’m very afraid of becoming a terrible father. If I have kids I want them to be happy and decent humans. My sister will definately have kids though because she really really wants kids so I’ll definately be an uncle and maybe that’ll be enough for me. Who knows? And mayble I’ll get a partner with young kids and help them raise their kids… I think I’d prefer helping someone raising kids and giving the kids good life advice and do fun things together without being the one who has the most responsibilities.

117. Who is the smartest person you know? My sister has a friend who scored really well in school (an average score of around 90% I believe), who now studies both medical science and classics, plays the piano flawlessly, and is also a very nice person. She also won a price in an ancient greek competition, she was the best of the country!!

118. What is your most embarrassing memory? I was ten years old and I had a friend who was a pretty big bully and I really wanted to stay her friend so I kinda just went along with it. One day I thought I was being cool and asked said friend to place a folded airplane on the bullied guy’s table that said something like “idiot” on it.  The guy then proceded to tell the teacher who told the entire class and demanded to know who had done it. I was terrified! Then my supposed friend ratted me out. I wanted to dissappear!! My teacher at the time was kind of my hero and I did not want to dissappoint her at all. I then proceded to lie that I just wanted to give the guy a folded airplane because I knew he liked them and didn’t know that it had the word “idiot” on it. I said that the word idiot wasn’t directed toward the guy and that I didn’t turn myself in because I was to scared the teacher would be angry at me. She believed me and everything went well but damn. This is the memory that still haunts me at 3am when I’m trying to sleep.

119. Have you ever pulled an all-nighter? Yes. A lot. Always at sleep-over parties. I used to really love pulling an all-nighter but now… not so much. When it’s 4am, I just want to sleeepppp.

120. What color are most of you clothes? Most of my clothes are blue! I have a lot of dark blue sweaters and hoodies.

121. Do you like adventures? Meh. I used to, but now I just want to go home and watch a movie.

122. Have you ever been on TV? Nope, but I’m probably gonna be! Right now there is a documentary in the making about my choir, which will be on TV and I’ll be in it!

123. How old are you? I’m 17 years old and I’ll turn 18 on June 4th 2017.

124. What is your favorite quote? I really like the entire songtext of escape by fireflight, but I can’t really put an entire songtext here, can I? The part of the song I love most are: “You are not hopeless. You are not worthless. You are loved. Don’t give up. This is your time” and “We don’t want to save ourselves”  But if I had to pick an all-time favourite quote I’d probably pick the following quote from Dan Howell: “And at the end of the day, if something makes you and other people happy, that’s what’s important”

125. Do you prefer sweet or savory foods? Savory. I really like sweet foods from time to time but I am always craving savory foodsss ohm yg od
